The fishing port of Måløy on the west coast of Norway is a hotspot for skills and expertise, with companies ranging from fishing gear suppliers to shipyards and naval architects.

"We want to let the maritime industry, both existing and new customers, know that we exist and are a good alternative to other ports in the North Atlantic. In Måløy we can offer service, maintenance, installations, repair, general supply, fishing gear, port facilities, ship design and shipbuilding of all sizes," said MMG's CEO Miriam Edler.

"Everything they need is there at the port of Måløy within close proximity. We are available around the clock and the MMG members co-operate closely to deliver the best possible service."

The Måløy Maritime Group is certainly going through a growth phase right now as member companies co-operate on a number of ventures, including the construction of innovative fishing vessel Cape Arkona, being built in Måløy for Australian company Austral Fisheries as a multi-purpose vessel designed to pursue a range of fisheries. Cape Arkona brings together MMG companies Skipskompetanse, Båtbygg, Ocean Electronics and Isovent which are all involved in its construction.

MMG is returning to IceFish following successful participation in 2017 with a number of member companies, including Fiskevegn – which took home the award for the best new product launched at the exhibition – and Havfront, which won an award for its 'Loppa' – the world's most compact heading machine.

"The Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition is a perfect place for our members to meet both new and existing customers, as well as promoting MMG as a maritime service cluster," Miriam Edler said.

"We see this as an important place to be visible."
