Valka is launching the patent-pending RapidAligner, capable of grading, batching and automatically aligning products into boxes or trays.

According to Valka, the RapidAligner belongs to the next generation of grading and batching equipment for fresh fish products due to the drastic improvement in accuracy, automation and product handling from traditional grading equipment.

Handling whole fillets to small portions, the RapidAligner begins by accurately weighing each piece on a scale. From there, the pieces are automatically carried to a point above the box or tray for which they are intended, and released into the next vacant spot.

As a result, the product is automatically aligned according to size and shape into the box, which is now ready to be closed without the need for manual labour. Having aligned the desired quantity of products into boxes, the machine then automatically transfers it to a check scale and from there to a label printer followed by palletising facilities. As there is no need for manual labour, the machine can be operated in chilled spaces to minimise heating of the product, thereby obtaining higher quality.

Valka says the machine has been thoroughly tested for the last two months and has met all necessary requirements.
