Iceland''s Marel continues with its expansion and has acquired Icelandic company POLS, also a manufacturer of weighing and grading equipment for the food-processing industry.

Marel said it will continue to operate POLS as an independent company with the same key personnel to ensure the best service for current and future customers. It said the move would allows POLS to broaden its product range, maintain development projects and increase its R&D scope.
