At the beginning of October, during the Conxemar exhibition in Vigo, refrigeration company Kinarca held a conference on ‘Energy efficiency for industrial refrigeration plants’, which received very good feedback customers old and new.

Kinarca told World Fishing & Aquaculture that the main point of the conference was take few hours out of the exhibition to join some old customers and some new ones, along with other interested delegates, to introduce them to the latest improvements and programs that Kinarca has developed in collaboration with the University of Vigo. The focus was on the company’s Frost Free Airlock, which reduces the energy consumption of cold rooms.

Energy consumption was explained to delegates – an area that they must be aware in factories, as electricity bills are getting higher. Kinarca feels that they should know, or at least try to understand, the market options available to reduce electricity bills, and to get more efficiency from refrigeration installations.

Kinarca, for the past two years, has been advising customers to pay attention to energy consumption when purchasing new refrigeration equipment, as sometimes the most expensive installation could be the cheaper one in the long run, or the cheaper installation could end up being the expensive one, due to the life of the installation and the power that it will need over the years.

A Kinarca representative says, “We install the most efficient equipment for our customer and needs. We have a program to check the old installations and develop new solutions to get a better performance with lower energy requirements.”

Kinarca has developed a new program to focus on energy consumption and the company says that it is going to move forward in this field over the coming years to make the best improvements for its customers with low investment and rapid payback.
