The Norwegian vessel Hardhaus was the first vessel to use Hampidjan’s spreading trawls at the beginning of 2000. Successful catches of blue whiting by Icelandic vessels this year have been noticed by operators in the rest of Europe.
Now seven Norwegian vessels will be using the trawls at the beginning of 2002. Hampidjan’s market share for pelagic trawls recently reached the 70% mark.
