Through the development of our Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification standards, GAA has become the leading standards-setting organization for farmed seafood, with more than 2,000 BAP-certified seafood processing plants, farms, hatcheries and feed mills worldwide. BAP is the world’s most comprehensive third-party aquaculture certification program, with standards encompassing environmental responsibility, social responsibility, food safety, animal health and welfare, and traceability. In addition to BAP, GAA is involved in various pre-competitive activities in advocacy and education, including its Global Aquaculture Advocate news website, annual GOAL conference, MyGAA online community, GAA Films, Global Aquaculture Academy e-learning platform and GAA membership.
