The greatest volume came from the Pacific Ocean. 53.5 million tonnes were caught, accounting 56.3% of the world catch.
The Atlantic came second with 21 million tonnes – 22.1% of the world catch.
Peruvian anchovy was the most fished species, with 10.7 million tonnes (11.2% of the world catch) being caught.
Second was Alaska Pollock with 2.7 million tonnes.
China was the biggest fishing nation, catching 16.9 million tonnes – 17.8% of the world catch.
Peru came second with 9.6 million tonnes.
