Innovative and rapidly developing technology can dramatically improve fish welfare and productivity, a potential reality that will be highlighted by Searas’ CEO Eivind Farestveit Larsen at this month’s Aquaculture Driving Sustainable Growth Conference.
The Norwegian tech company specializes in water quality monitoring, production optimization and infrastructure solutions for aquaculture, notably in the effective management of CO₂ accumulation in RAS facilities.
Larsen will detail the work of the Searas team and their results from an ongoing FHF-funded project, alongside data from commercial fish farms, to demonstrate how new insights and technology can dramatically improve degassing efficiency and overall system performance.
By increasing CO₂ removal while simultaneously reducing Total Gas Pressure (TGP), the company’s AquaDUCT system improves fish welfare, enhances growth conditions and increases production capacity within existing infrastructure.
The technology also significantly reduces energy consumption compared to alternative solutions, demonstrating how targeted retrofit investments can unlock hidden production capacity while supporting more profitable and resilient aquaculture production.
