The wireless Headline and Catch Sensors 2nd generation will have all the characteristics of the current sensors except that they will have avant-garde mechanics and design and will be even easier to use, while improving robustness, precision, reliability – but without increasing selling price.

iXTrawl wanted to evolve its sensors to satisfy the request for new products and to meet the needs of fishermen, and to enable them to optimise their trawl features.

These new sensors are better adapted to their fishing environment, more handy, robust and lighter, and with a modern and hydrodynamic design.

The Headline sensor provides information on the vertical height at the top of the trawl compared to the bottom and makes it possible to know if the trawl has an optimal vertical opening

The Catch sensor informs on the rate of filling the bottom of the trawl, in real-time. It also calculates if the trawl fishes well and if the desired quantity of fish is reached

The two products are scheduled to be available in September 2006.

These new sensors are also the options for the two ranges of the GEONET® (trawl positioning and monitoring system) and DATANET (trawl doors spread measurement system) systems.
