GLOBALG.A.P. and GMP+ International have entered into a partnership which they say will eliminate any possible certificate duplication.

Both organisations are certification scheme providers who operate on an international level. They expect this partnership to strengthen their operations to the benefit of the involved certified companies in the feed, livestock farming and aquaculture businesses by providing greater uniformity and transparency as well as ultimately lowering cost.

GLOBALG.A.P. and GMP+ International will keep their independence and are looking to harmonise governance and system rules in order to provide a strong, efficient and transparent tool for the feed industry, which is also in the best interest of downstream livestock and aquaculture farmers.

“We aim to achieve optimal results by focusing on our respective core businesses, while at the same time aligning the normative requirements so as to operate according to the same principles in governance, certification and integrity. In due course this will result in us being able to operate at lower cost while providing the same high quality levels”, says Johan den Hartog, managing director of GMP+ International.

“With a focus on providing safe and wholesome food for consumers, we are joining hands with GMP+ International to eliminate any possible certificate duplication and to create synergies in the standards and systems, thus enabling the feed industry and farmers to participate in a controlled chain of custody system”, said Kristian Moeller, CEO of GLOBALG.A.P.
