According to the Iran Fisheries Organization, the first floating dock was inaugurated in the port of Konarak in southern Iran (Sistan-Balouchestan province) as a loading/unloading centre for fishing boats in the area.

The structure, made of concrete, was sent to Iran from Sweden as a prefabricated product. The dock is 90m long and boats can berth along both sides. The project was handled with a budget of 2,600,000,000,00IRR.

According to local authorities, the project lasted five months. The second floating structure also became operational in May in the Ramin fishing port close to Chabahar.
