DSI has recently launched its newly developed system which precisely measures the core temperature of whatever the customer''s DSI vertical plate freezers are processing.
The company has reported that several customers have already added CorePoint to freezers onboard vessels and on shore and are testing the advantages of the system.
The DSI CorePoint kit can be mounted inside any DSI vertical plate freezer. The system consists of a PT100 thermo sensor mounted in a specially designed probe that appears from a hole in one of the lifting arms. Only one kit is needed for each freezer.
The DSI CorePoint system gives full control over the freezing time for each freezer regardless of different inlet temperatures of the raw product.
When opening the vertical plate freezer and lifting out the frozen blocks the probe will slide out easily and be ready for another job. The DSI CorePoint is connected to a central control system.
The system is patented under Patent No. PA 2009 00731 and has been tested at different production sites.

Smaller plate freezers
Plate freezers from DSI are no longer only suitable for large trawlers and processing plants on shore - the company has maximised its efforts to minimise a horizontal freezer to a quarter of its normal size, to enable it to be installed onboard a small trawler or cutter.
DSI describes it as "cute" but just as effective, durable and of the same quality as its other freezers.
The mini-freezer was made in corporation with Grenco Denmark and from the demands of a contractor from the Faroe Islands. DSI has delivered two of a kind to be installed on a smaller fishing vessel to help the skipper stay longer at sea and increasing the value of the catch. The twin mini-freezers have been modified for the special purpose and are working very well, the company has been told.
