The first half of this year has been very busy for Tucal, with plenty of deliveries to customers in Somaliland, Portugal, Peru, Serbia, Angola, Poland and Spain.
The company will be kept busy for the rest of the year, with a variety of diverse orders and also with some improvements.
Tucal will be supplying a turnkey refrigeration installation for a fish processor in Portugal. This includes three vertical plate freezers and the corresponding refrigeration equipment with capacity for 25 tons of pelagic fish in 16 hours, as well as the equipment for the cold storage at -25oC.
Tucal is pre-assembling and will carry out the pressure and electrical sequence testing of the whole installation at its factory in La Coruña in Spain, following the same layout of the customer’s facilities. The vertical plate freezers will also be supplied with the automatic hot gas defrost system, and with the hydraulic pump connected to them (attached at one side), a new configuration from which every customer can now benefit. This means that the works to be carried out at the destination will be at a minimum.
The company is also manufacturing an ammonia compact plate freezer for a French fish processor. It is a compact unit with a 90kW electrical motor (75kW used to be the maximum for the compact configuration). The equipment will be prepared to be connected to another freezer in the future. Special attention was paid to the load of refrigerant, as it was very important to fulfil the legal restrictions. Tucal optimises the plates’ refrigerant circuit in such a way that its freezers require less refrigerant, preserving the heat exchange efficiency.
As well as these projects, Tucal will also soon be delivering plate freezers to diverse customers in Germany and Mexico, as well as the fourth RSW built in 2015 for a Portuguese company, and diverse ice machines.
