French manufacturer of high accuracy fishing trawl control equipment iXTrawl is currently demonstrating the potential of its DATANET Trawl Door Spread Measurement System on individual owners’ trawlers.
Full demonstrations presenting the functions and advantages of DATANET and the iXTrawl trawl control systems are given by the company and the skipper can immediately see the benefits on the trawler.
The DATANET software is installed on a bridge computer, then sensors in the trawl door sleeves, and towing the acoustic antenna with a paravane. It is very quick and easy to implement.
DATANET has been developed for inshore trawlers so that they can have access to essential information like trawl door spread, water temperature and trawl door depth. This also makes it possible for the skipper to know if there is a problem with the trawl doors, or if there is a grip. In this way the skipper does not waste time because he will be able to react immediately to the problem – to adjust the trawl doors or recover the trawl.
DATANET uses up to four sensors to give information on the trawl door spread, which is then sent to the bridge monitor.
The company states that it been a real success on the trawlers, and iXTrawl is very proud to show to the skippers the effectiveness of the DATANET Trawl Door Spread Measurement System.
Skippers note an immediate benefit of using DATANET: saving time, fishing more efficiently, knowing essential trawl data, trawl monitoring, and using easy software.
