At Seafood Processing Global 2018, a group of close to thirty Danish suppliers are showcasing solutions and machinery assuring efficiency, automation and a high degree of hygiene to the entire value chain of fish and seafood processing.
“The Danish companies cover the entire value chain of processing and packaging equipment, as well as cooking, cooling and cleaning systems, conveyors, logistics and much more,” said Martin Winkel, organiser of the largest Danish Pavilion to date in SPG’s Hall 4, and head of the Danish Fish Tech Group, the largest Danish export network for suppliers to the global fishing, aquaculture and seafood processing industries.
“Based on a long tradition and strict regulations, the Danish competencies within fish and seafood processing are at the forefront of food safety and hygiene standards. At the same time, the Danish suppliers meet the industry demands for more efficient and automated solutions,” he said.
One of the Danish exhibitors meeting the fish and seafood industry’s requirements for increased automation is DSI Freezing & Handling. After recently acquiring Erlinord A/S, the company is the only manufacturer of plate vertical and horizontal freezers capable of offering fully incorporated systems for loading and unloading of plate freezers.
“The manufacturers of fish and seafood demand total solutions from one supplier. Accordingly, with Erlinord’s strong competencies within automation, including palletising, packaging and labelling, we can now offer customised solutions for automatic loading and unloading of vertical and horizontal plate freezers,” said DSI Freezing & Handling sales director Peter Nygaard Christensen.
“By automating loading and unloading of plate freezers, we ensure efficient processing with an increased output as well as increased safety for the operators working on for example fishing trawlers.”
At the Pavilion of Denmark, more suppliers are showcasing packaging solutions for fresh and frozen fish and seafood, including Plus Pack A/S which is launching the new Ready2Cook® Skin Packaging which offers maximum food safety and flexibility for the consumer as it can easily go directly from the chilled section, to the oven, microwave or BBQ.
“Full surface skin packaging has a hermetically sealed solution that ensures food safety. In addition, the aluminium container is fully recyclable and can be used as a cooking tray,” explained Camilla Haustrup Hermansen, the company’s Director for Business Development & Marketing.
“This gives the food manufacturers strong marketing advantages in meeting the consumers’ demands of hygienic and convenient packaging of solutions for fresh fish. It is much easier to transport, stack and store for the retailer and also much easier to handle for the consumer.”
