MeteoGroup will deliver its weather routing technology services (SPOS) through ChartCo’s OneOcean navigation management platform following a new partnership.
The deal was made as ChartCo were seeking a more flexible and the most accurate weather service for OneOcean and tendered for an innovative weather routing solution. MeteoGroup enhanced its comprehensive shipping portfolio with a custom software development kit (SDK), based on its SPOS (Ship Performance Optimisation System) product and this tailored result will fuel the growing range of services within the OneOcean platform.

One-stop shop
Donat Rétif, CEO of MeteoGroup, said the partnership “allows customers of both MeteoGroup and ChartCo to be able to enjoy a one-stop shop when choosing the best solutions for combined navigation and weather routing.”
ChartCo will also offer further MeteoGroup services to complement its single platform-based portfolio.
OneOcean is ChartCo’s software platform for services including e-navigation, route and passage planning, environmental compliance and data management.
The MeteoGroup services enable ships to safely navigate the globe with minimal fuel consumption and emissions, by calculating and recalculating optimum routes and anticipating oncoming weather and sea conditions.
