Cawells, a Swedish company specialised in manufacturing health food and dietary supplements, has recently obtained Friend of the Sea certification for Omega-3 products originating from healthy stocks of European sardine, chub mackerel and European and Peruvian anchovies.
With the exception of the Peruvian anchovy (which comes from the Pacific Southeast), all species are fished in the Eastern Central part of the Atlantic Ocean through a selective purse seine method.
Cawells has been producing a wide range of products, including Omega-3 fish oils, following strict quality and safety rules, for over 25 years.
