The Marine Ingredients Organisation (IFFO) has appointed a new president and vice president.
Chief executive of Pelagia and IFFO’s current vice president, Egil Magne Haugstad, will assume the role of president whilst original co-president and one of the founders of IFFO, Eduardo Goycoolea, will take up the role of vice president.

Egil Magne Haugstad highlighted the importance of the role of IFFO in producing essential marine ingredients for the wider food industry. “IFFO members work in a responsible manner and continuously encourage further development in science-based projects such as the ongoing life cycle assessment analysis,” he said.
“I look forward to contributing to develop knowledge and competence within the marine ingredients sector. We will also explore how IFFO can keep developing its services and be an even better meeting place for our industry.”
Eduardo Goycoolea has been with the organisation since its creation in 2001. “I have worked closely with IFFO for many years and helped it become the reference point for the marine ingredients industry,” he said.
“IFFO’s events provide an unrivalled opportunity for the whole value chain to meet, while the organisation’s market and technical intelligence keeps developing.”
Leaving the board are Odd Eliasen and Nick Sterrett whilst Armando Coppel and Dan James are new joiners.
