On-site oxygen improves fish farming efficiency
Oxywise has introduced automated oxygen generation for fish farms, improving oxygen control, operational reliability and productivity
Oxywise has introduced its latest O Series oxygen generator range for aquaculture, enabling fish farms to produce oxygen on-site at purities of up to 95%, helping improve fish health, production yields and operational efficiency.
The systems use pressure swing adsorption technology to extract oxygen from compressed air, reducing reliance on delivered gas and protecting farms against supply interruptions, shortages and rising procurement costs.
Oxygen management is a critical factor in aquaculture profitability, supporting faster fish growth, lower feed costs, increased stocking densities and reduced disease risks. The Oxywise range is designed to provide a continuous supply under changing demand and challenging, humid operating conditions.
The generators feature a dual-column design, allowing one pressure vessel to produce oxygen while the second regenerates, ensuring uninterrupted output. Specially engineered dynamic pressure vessels are designed to withstand at least two million pressure cycles, equivalent to up to 15 years of operational reliability.
Moisture protection is another feature of the system. A dew point sensor monitors compressed air before it reaches the molecular sieve, automatically diverting contaminated air if excessive moisture is detected. This helps protect the filtration material, maintain oxygen purity and reduce maintenance requirements.
An integrated Siemens control system continuously monitors oxygen quality, providing selectable purity levels of 90%, 93% or 95%. If output falls below specification, the system automatically diverts the gas and activates local and remote alarms. Touchscreen controls and operational trend data also help identify potential problems before they cause downtime.
Additional equipment includes automated oxygen distribution panels, which regulate supply according to real-time demand, with manual override facilities for power failures. Oxywise oxygen cones provide efficient oxygen dissolution, helping maximise absorption while requiring less power than conventional aeration systems.
Designed with corrosion-resistant stainless-steel pipework and automated protection features, the O Series aims to provide aquaculture operators with dependable oxygen supplies, improved control and lower long-term operating costs.
