Marshall Islands step up fight against illegal fishing
The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) said it has taken a significant step in the fight against illegal fishing by ratifying the FAO Agreement on Port State Measures to Prevent, Deter and Eliminate Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing. The Nitijela, the legislative body of the RMI, passed Resolution No 13 on 12 April 2024, approving the ratification.
