“We are delighted to open the doors today to the 12th Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition,” said Mercator Media’s events director Marianne Rasmussen Coulling.

“This year’s show has received tremendous interest and we are set for three very busy days of business ahead.”

She commented that there is no shortage of innovation at this year’s exhibition, which is partnered this year with the World Fisheries Conference at the Harpa Conference and Concert hall in Reykjavík. The second Fish Waste for Profit conference is also being held alongside the exhibition, continuing from the initial event in 2014 designed to showcase Iceland’s pioneering success in utilising 100% of fish landed.

“A lot has been done to keep IceFish up to date, such as the multi-channel social media programming and the new IceFish smart app in two languages to guide visitors around the exhibition. We’ve really harnessed digital technology, and introducing online pre-show registration to help people beat the queues and on-site self-serve registration to make it a smooth process for those who register on the day,” she said.
