Unique RingProp design
A new propeller which has been described as having limitless potential, has been designed by RingProp in the UK.
The company claims the propeller is the first with a ring around it connecting the blades which will help towards vessel maneuverability and performance as well as inducing fuel cost savings.
The propeller, which will shortly be coming into production for commercial sale, will be produced in glass filled nylon as opposed to the usual aluminium or stainless steel.
Chairman of RingProp Johnny Townsend claims the RingProp will outperform open blades in terms of manoeuvrability, sharp angle turns at speed and acceleration.
For a vessel or ship application, RingProp requires an industrial partner such as a vessel builder, propeller manufacturer or a vessel or ship owner.
