Intasave Oceans has launched its new tweet to donate #HealthySeas campaign which aims to bring in funds for its Healthy Seas, Happy People fundraising programme.

It focuses on restoring coral reefs, conserving fish and supporting sustainable coastal communities.

“Our new #HealthySeas campaign via Twitter is another facet to our major fundraising efforts and will help to make a real difference to these vulnerable ecosystems,” said Julie Howard of Intasave Oceans.

The Twitter campaign works by making it possible for supporters to donate £5 simply by tweeting the Twitter handle (@Intasaveoceans) with the hashtag and then confirming the donation with a retweet.

This initiates a link with Paypal and Twitter with the hope to raise fund to highlight the importance of healthy marine ecosystems and set out a key range of ecosystem restoration options to protect vulnerable coastlines.

In collaboration with Caribsave, the campaign continues to stimulate awareness and raise funds for its marine conservation programmes.

It builds on its successful C-FISH (Caribbean Fish Sanctuaries) Initiative which has been supporting Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) across Jamaica and the Caribbean over the last four years.

Donations are also available through the Intasave Oceans website which allows people to support specific programs, such as Adopt a Parrot Fish” Adopt a Coral Nursery, or support marine sanctuaries and sustainable fishing programmes.
