Spanish company Tucal will participate this year at the Seafood Processing Global event in Brussels, this time bringing with them a compact mini plate freezer that will be installed in a Spanish fish processing plant as soon as it has been shipped back to Spain after the exhibition.

Tucal’s mini compact plate freezer in operation

This model of horizontal plate freezer was developed by Tucal three years ago, and it has become the preferred option for those customers who only require a modest capacity; the design is very clean and ergonomic, with the plate freezer at the front and the refrigeration equipment, also built by Tucal, at the rear of the cabin. This is in a fully independent, isolated space, while allowing the two to be fully connected. The space requirement is minimal, and also the investment is also modest, as this design optimises the use of a standard cabinet to house both the freezer and the compressing unit.

Staff can control the main functions using the push buttons at one side/front of the freezer, without the need to go to the main electrical panel at the rear.

“Of course Tucal also keeps producing bigger plate freezers, horizontal, vertical and IQF type,” the company’s Soledad Mariñõ said.

“The characteristics are always calculated according to the customer specific requirements, only with some limits in the size and number of plates, since Tucal is only willing to offer those freezers where the ease of operation, transport and the effectiveness of the system are guaranteed.”

Tucal maintains a stock of extruded aluminium profiles measuring 6.55 metres and these are cut according to the customer’s requirements and to the maximum length to guarantee the effectiveness of the system.

“Tucal can also offer as an option a new plate design which reduces the volume of refrigerant to the minimum required for freezing,” Soledad Mariño said.
