Thai Union subsidiary Asian Pacific Can Company Limited (APC) has led a digital literacy workshop to help people better understand technology, as well as use it safely and appropriately.

Nearly 30 people attended the workshop in south Thailand to learn the fundamentals of using digital technology, guidelines for using social media, media literacy, communication in the digital era, plus digital law and digital health. Participants were also given a demonstration on how to use digital technology responsibly by Krit Jankham, Asian Pacific Can’s manager for information technology.
Somsak Smittiset, Asian Pacific Can’s managing director, said: “Today digital technology has come to influence the lives of everyone. We need to encourage people and those in the communities in which we operate to understand digital technology and create awareness of the dangers of social media so they can use it appropriately and responsibly.”
The producer of steel and aluminum food packaging products held the digital literacy workshop for people in Samut Sakhon, in collaboration with the Office of Non-formal and Informal Education in Tarsrai Sub-district.
Mr Smittiset added: “We hope this workshop benefited the people in the community and they can apply what they learned in their daily lives.”
