Tersan launches 8th vessel for Ervik Havfiske
Turkish shipbuilder Tersan Shipyard has launched newbuild NB1118 – to be named Froyanes – the 8th vessel it has built for long-term partner Norwegian fishing company Ervik Havfiske AS.
According to Tersan, Froyanes will be the first vessel of its kind. The combined crab catcher and shrimp trawler has been built with a giant moonpool, with crab pots pulled aboard via new hauling system.
Froyanes will operate in the Norwegian and Barents seas for shrimp and snow crab.
Designed by Marinteknikk, again a long-term partner for Tersan, the vessel has a length of 70 metres and a breadth of 17 metres. It has an onboard cabin capacity for 35 people.
The first vessel that Tersan Shipyard built for Ervik Havfiske, which was also named Froyanes, was delivered in 2011. It is expected new Froyanes will be delivered and join the rest of Ervik Havfiske’s fleet by the end of 2023.
