Leinebris will be equipped for longlining, seining and net fishing

With the building number NB1116, the newbuild – to be named Leinebris – will be equipped for three different fishing methods – longlining, seining and net fishing. It will have a large battery pack and three diesel-electric generator sets with Azimuth thrusters in the stern and the bow for more efficient energy usage and manoeuvring.

Designed by Tersan’s long-term partner Skipsteknisk, the vessel will have onboard accommodation for up to 25 people.

The previous and still fishing Leinebris was delivered in 2015, also by Tersan.

“Eight years after the delivery of the first Leinebris, it is a very big pleasure and honour for us to be awarded as the builder of the new vessel. We believe she will be a revolutionary vessel for the fishing sector – sustaining the pioneer position of Leinebris AS in the fishing sector,” Tersan Shipyard  Business Development and Marketing Director Sakir Erdogan said.

Measuring 64.9 metres long and 15 metres wide, new Leinebris will house double cargo decks, covered working decks and a moonpool. It will also have refrigerated sea water (RSW) tanks to provide live fish for fresh production or for direct unloading to shore.

“We want to fish for the future and take care of the resources we have in the best possible way. Then we have to both think in a new way and build a new vessel,” Leinebris’ Paul Harald Leinebø said.

New Leinebris is scheduled to be delivered in 2025.
