American Seafoods Group has appointed Einar Gustafsson as new chief executive, succeeding Mikel Durham who has decided to step down from the role.
As part of these changes in the senior leadership team, Inge Andreassen, current president of the American Seafoods Company, and with 30 years of leadership at American Seafoods, has been elevated to chief operating officer.

Andreassen will continue as president at American Seafoods Company and also serve as the acting chief executive until Gustafsson’s appointment is effective. “I am so invigorated with this new opportunity, as American Seafoods is in a strong position with terrific growth opportunities ahead,” said Inge Andreassen.
Gustafsson most recently served as chief executive, Americas and Europe for bubble tea brand, Gong Cha. Prior to that, he held roles as managing director of Bakkavor Asia, vice president and general manager at former American Seafoods division, American Pride Seafoods, as well as serving as president and chief executive of Atlantic Coast Fisheries Corporation.
An Icelandic native now living in Seattle, Andreassen joined American Seafoods in 1992 serving as the president of American Seafoods Company since 2005.
