Fisheries officers attended a workshop in Jahor Baru, Malaysia from 7 to 10 June 2011 to discuss ways of stopping IUU fishing.
Feedback and outcomes from the workshop were very positive, with members identifying areas for the improvement of existing port control systems, determining future training requirements, raising awareness of IUU fishing in the region and understanding the operation and context of the PSMA including its inspection, information sharing and reporting requirements.
