A bluefin tuna sold at an auction in Tokyo for a record 32.49m yen (nearly $400,000/£257,320), to a joint Japanese and Chinese bid.
The fish was sold at Tokyo’s Tsukji fish market, where record prices are often set at its first fish auction in January.
The tuna weighed 342kg and was caught off the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido.
The winners were a sushi chain in Hong Kong and the owners of a restaurant in Tokyo.
