Denmark’s Karstensens Skibsværft has agreed a new contract with Brunvoll AS for the delivery of propulsion and manoeuvring systems for nine new fishing vessels being built over the next three years for shipowners in Norway, Denmark, Iceland and the Faroe Islands.
According to Norway-based Brunvoll’s Sales Manager – Fisheries & Aquaculture, Arne Tennøy, the new projects – all purse seiner/trawlers of 75 to 88 metres – will take Brunvoll’s participation on Karstensens Skibsværft newbuilds up to 50 vessels.
“Our products and systems are well adapted to modern ship designs. Karstensen’s design emphasises reduced emissions and a green operating profile in their vessels. This corresponds very well with Brunvoll’s systems [which are] designed for optimum efficiency and low energy consumption,” Tennøy said.
