Saeplast presented at the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition a number of new products.

Finalist for the best product launched at the Exhibition was the Iceland fleet standard tub, the 460 litre tub with an imbedded Radio Frequency Identification chip (RFID).

The RFID technology allows detailed tracing from catch to processing. The technology has been designed in close cooperation with Fisk Seafood of Iceland and Maritech. The system allows on-board registration of information such as container number, catch type in each tub, name of vessel, catch date and time, catch location, and sea temperature. The data can be transmitted to the processing site and equipment on forklifts ashore will retrieve the data during landing which allows processors to allocate the catch according to their need at each given time. The data can be collected and stored in the WiseFish system from Maritech for further processing.

The company also presented an insulated container filled with live cod. The 1015 litre tub has been specifically designed to transport live fish and is equipped with oxygenation inlet and a 20 cm (8 inch) discharge spout.t Lo
