Loch Duart Ltd has placed a major order for Triton salmon pens for its exposed sea site in North Uist.

This shows a continued strong performance and the reliability of Fusion Marine equipment in the offshore marine environments.
Mark Warrington, director of operations of Loch Duart, said: “Once again, Loch Duart chose Fusion Marine based on their competitive pricing, proven performance and reliability along with the excellent customer service and assistance in coming up with the best option for one of our more exposed sea sites in Uist.”
He added: “Our site in Sutherland has similar conditions and the proven reliability of Fusion Marine equipment there played a major role in our decision making process.”
The contract for 12 Triton 400mm 80m circumference pens and net support wheels follows on from a previous order in 2014 for Oceanflex 315mm 80m pens for the company’s Oldany site in Sutherland.
The pens are currently under construction at Fusion Marine’s coastal base at Barcaldine in Argyll and will be delivered during the first quarter of 2017.
“Loch Duart were looking for a strong and robust pen that could both cope with the location and environmental conditions, as well as meeting their demanding operational requirements,” said Rhuaraidh Edwards, technical sales engineer for Fusion Marine.
He concluded: “The Triton pen is proven in such exposed locations and the cutting-edge technology used in the manufacturing process ensures the best possible performance.”
