Gilnetters and other fishermen who work with floats and buoys are often searching for a suitable blinking or steady light to attach to a pole or float.

New York based light manufacturer Julian A. McDermott has invented a very easy to use LED light that works on four penlight batteries for 30 nights in flashing mode or 10 nights in steady mode.

The light is called DriftLight and is sold by W.K.M. Cornelisse Trading B.V. in Europe and other parts of the world outside the USA.

Cornelisse Trading is a marine wholesale company specialised in Julian A. McDermott products and a full line of engine replacement parts for mainly American diesel engines.

The DriftLights are available in red, white, amber and blue and with or without stick and floats.

The LED technology design guarantees a long life-time of up to five years in rough conditions. The light is supplied with a snap-on adaptor for easy mounting with a clear operation instructions.

The company says that another advantage is the weight of the unit being only 160g including the batteries.
