EquaFish CEO makes case that data quality more important than quantity.
Reliable data and its effective interpretation is one of the keys to success in the aquaculture sector, and is an area that Eirik Lillebudal, CEO and co-founder of EquaFish, will address at the Aquaculture – Driving Sustainable Growth Conference this September at IceFish 2026.
Founded in 2025, the Norwegian software company helps aquaculture operators turn the data they already have into better daily decisions. Their platform integrates data from sensors, feeding systems, and environmental logs into a single interface to help managers and biologists track fish growth and spot anomalies
EquaFish argues the next leap in aquaculture won’t come from more sensors, but from finally making sense of what’s already being measured. As its website states: ‘The time of Post-it notes, Excell and systems from the ‘90s died 15 years ago and the aquaculture industry didn’t get the memo’.
Lillebudal will be making sense of the data fish farmers already have in his presentation Beyond more sensors. This will be part of the early afternoon session at the Aquaculture conference: Quickfire AI and Emerging Technology.
