EU call for fishing vessel of the future

The EU is investing €2.2 million in finding the fishing vessel of the future to help the sector decarbonise

Funded to the tune of €2.2 million by the EU, the pilot project will develop and test a demonstrator vessel running on alternative fuels to help decarbonise the sector and enhance its economic resilience.

The project should demonstrate the feasibility of the chosen technologies and highlight the benefits of reduced reliance on fossil fuels, lower fuel costs and lower emissions.
