The Findus Group received a Special Award for Excellence from the UK’s Food & Drink Federation (FDF) for its ‘Fish for Life’ sourcing approach at last week’s annual Community Partnership Awards in London.

This is the sixth major award for the Fish for Life programme.
The Findus Group uses it as a vehicle to drive ongoing improvement in fisheries management around the world, as well as a mechanism to ensure the responsible sourcing of both farmed and wild seafood for its Young’s and Findus brands.
In June, Fish for Life was also named by the EU as winner of the Management Category in the 2010 European Business Awards for the Environment.
Ian Hagg, director of corporate social responsibility, received the award on behalf of Findus Group.
He said: “It has been a fantastic year for our Fish for Life programme and we are absolutely delighted that the work we do in this area continues to be recognised as a benchmark for best practice in our industry.”
In addition to the award for Fish for Life, Findus also received a second accolade – a Silver for Young’s Seafood in the Workplace Wellbeing category.
Findus is one of Europe’s largest frozen food and seafood companies with leading brands, 6,000 employees and over £1.1 billion (€1.2 billion/$1.7 billion) turnover and operating leading brands in eight countries.
In the UK, the Findus Group is the parent of Young’s, Findus and The Seafood Company.
