The PECH Committee is holding a public hearing at the European Parliament on 21st March focusing on TACs for fish stocks, with members able to listen and present questions to representatives of scientific organisations, fishermen’s organisations and NGOs.

Entitled ‘Encounters between science and management in fisheries,’ the meeting is chaired by Alain Cadec and takes place 14.30-16.20 on 21st March at the European Parliament, room ASP A1E-2.
Taking part are Joost Paardekooper, head of unit at DG MARE, Eskild Kirkegaard, chair of the ICES advisory committee and STECF member Nick Bailey, who will speak on fixation of TACs and fishing opportunities.
Pim Visser, chief executive of VisNed will present a fishermen's view on annual TACs, and Gonçalo Carvalho, president of the Marine Sciences and Cooperation Association (SCIAENA), will present an NGO's view on annual TACs.
Presentations are followed by opportunities to ask questions of the panel.
