The 7th Irish Skipper Expo will take place on 4-5 March 2011 at the Galway Bay Hotel in Ireland and has completely sold out again.

The organisers have even added an extra room to this year’s event (Inishmann room) which will cater for an additional six companies - Guy Cotten, Crosby Europe, Sealstrap, New Ross boat yard, Rustbullet and Carapax.

Sharon Boyle, Event Manager, said: "The resilience of the industry is once again reflected in the additional bookings from new companies exhibiting at this year’s show. Support once again has been overwhelming considering that we are in the midst of a recession and we are striving to continually deliver another successful show for those involved in the industry.

"IASC, The Irish Association of Seafood Companies are once again delighted to be joining with The Skipper for the forthcoming show in Galway. It is a fantastic opportunity for all sectors of the fishing community to come together. The show last year was a huge success for all involved it is not just a chance to see what is on offer but also serves as a place for the people involved in the industry to meet and exchange ideas that will ensure the future of the sector. IASC members are looking forward to meeting suppliers and customers during the event."

Acclaimed photographer and ‘Deadliest Catch’ star Corey Arnold will join the Skipper team for the Expo, and while in Galway he intends to give a slide show presentation of images from the Bering Sea, Bristol Bay Salmon fishing, and his most recent journeys from Norway to the Italian coast, documenting the lifestyle and the current state of fishing in Europe. He will also have a number of prints on display during the Expo.

Another highlight includes Cygnus Workboats Ltd displaying two of its vessels at the Expo - a 26ft Cygnus Cyclone and a 35ft Cygnus Cyclone.

During the 2010 Expo in excess of 5,000 fishermen and their families visited the show and 104 exhibitors displayed and sold a whole range of products over the weekend. For those involved in the inshore sector this Expo has become an important event which not only caters for Irish fishermen, but also attracts fishermen from Scotland, the Shetlands, Orkney, Cornwall, the Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Norway. Feedback from several of the exhibitors suggests that sales and orders were outstanding over the two days.
