The Seafood Team at US-based supplier of conveyance solutions and services Intralox develops handling systems for all types of fish processing operations, from onboard ocean-going factory trawlers through to the packaging end of a processing plant.

According to Intralox, proven results from its ThermoDrive include consistently low swab counts and better product yields.

Its fish solutions include its ThermoDrive belting for safe and trouble-free conveyance of fresh product, which the company told WF combines the benefits of positive drive, low-tension belting with a smooth, thermoplastic surface.

“This match is ideal for hygiene-sensitive applications in food processing as it dramatically improves food safety and lowers operating costs through substantially reduced usage of water, chemicals, and cleaning labour and time,” a company spokesman said. “Proven results include consistently low swab counts and better product yields.”

Intralox has also developed new spiral belt technology for freezer applications. Called‘Spiralox’, these particular belts eliminate excessive tension caused by metal wear debris. The downtime associated with belt flipping, which is caused by excessive tension, is also eliminated or reduced.

According to the manufacturer, Spiralox belts have been proven to halve product waste and reduce maintenance downtime by up to 75%.

Lastly, Intralox has developed flush grid belts that provide generous drainage. Belt modules are molded from materials that virtually eliminate breakage, while an open hinge style provides easy cleaning and effective water flow-through.
