Denmark-based, Carsoe, specialist in onboard fish processing, has signed the first significant contract in the United States with the Arctic Storm Management Group in Seattle.

As part of the deal, Carsoe will supply onboard equipment for the Arctic Storm Management Group's new fishing vessel, built in collaboration with Rolls-Royce. It is the first of its kind specifically designed to catch pollock in the ocean around Alaska.
Commenting on the deal, Mikkel Jacobsen, chief executive of Carsoe said, "Arctic Storm Management Group strengthens our market position significantly, not least in the US."
"We’ve been chosen as supplier because of our team of skilled and very experienced employees – and because of our industry-leading solutions and workmanship," he added.
The vessel, currently known as NVC 336 WP, measures 100m by 21m and is the largest ever built by Rolls-Royce. She is also the first Rolls-Royce ship to be built in the US and will replace Arctic Storm's existing vessel, Arctic Fjord.
The ship will be equipped with Carsoe’s fish factory for the production of Alaska Pollock, either as fish blocks or surimi as well as roe, fish meal and fish oil. She has been designed with an emphasis on low fuel consumption, limited emissions and vibrations as well as a low noise-level.
The vessel is currently being built at Thoma-Sea Marine Construction in Louisiana and delivery is scheduled in 2021.
