The call for papers has been released for the 2017 conference and companies, organisations and individuals are invited to put forward papers by November 17th.

The conference programme is scheduled to cover the following topics:

- Recent developments in offshore aquaculture
- Baja California’s mariculture industry as it stands – success stories
- Alternative species for Baja California – Opportunities
- Applied research: Studies into processes at the breeding and hatchery level
- Market opportunities for sustainably raised offshore fish
- Investment in mariculture projects: successes and failures
- Developments in offshore technology
- Fish nutrition: tradition vs change
- How disease affects productivity
- The value added supply chain


Abstracts using real life case studies will be given precedence. This year’s programme will feature a number of topical seminars from prominent speakers, focusing on the production of Abalone, Seaweed, Mussels and the offshore farming of marine finfish.

Attendees will hear from investors and producers with first-hand experience in the industry with the aim of providing fish farmers with the knowledge they need to set up offshore. The conference builds on numerous successful European editions and is expected to bring in 200+ international attendees. It will conclude with a further one and a half days of technical visits to offshore fish farms, hatcheries and research facilities.

Abstracts should be no more than 200 words and should be sent, with a biography of the speaker, headshot photo and logo, to jgwynn@mercatormedia.com by 17th November 2016 at the latest, to be considered for inclusion in the programme.

The 7th offshore mariculture conference will take place in Ensenada, Baja California on the 6-10 March next year.
