Borgarplast has sold its premises and will relocate to new premises in Mosfellsbaer, just outside of Reykjavik, Iceland in October.

In Mosfellsbaer the operation will take place in two new buildings with a total of 4,500m2 floor space. The company says that the 15,000m2 site will provide ample space for Borgarplast's operation in the future.
Borgarplast began its operation in Borgarnes in western Iceland in 1971 by producing polystyrene insulation for the building industry. Borgarplast still produces polystyrene insulation in
Borgarnes, but has added polystyrene boxes of various types and sizes to the production line. These boxes are used for transporting fresh fish by aeroplane and in sea containers.
In 1983 Borgarplast opened a new rotational moulding factory in Kopavogur and five years later this factory relocated to Seltjarnarnes, which has been Borgarplast's headquarters ever since. The Seltjarnarnes factory produces insulated food containers, plastic pallets and various other products for the food industry. It also produces septic tanks, oil and grease separators, as well as other products for the building industry and environmental care.
Both factories will relocate to Mosfellsbaer.
Borgarplast tells World Fishing that it will not have many of its tubs on display at Icefish 2008 and says that as so many Icelandic companies use the tubs, they do not need to see what they look like again! Instead, the company's focus will be on meeting its customers.
