Norwegian Greentech wins Arctic Seafarm deal

Under the agreement, Norwegian Greentech will deliver nine energy-efficient systems to treat seawater before it enters the facility, located at Nesna in Nordland County.

“We are excited to see that activity level in the Norwegian land-based aquaculture market is picking up, and we are proud to be chosen by Eyvi to support their turnkey delivery to Arctic Seafarm,” said Børge Gjelseth, senior vice-president, Commercial at Norwegian Greentech.

Norwegian Greentech’s UV- and filtration technology is chemical-free and designed to balance power and efficiency, reducing both operating costs and environmental impact.

This contract marks Norwegian Greentech’s breakthrough in the land-based aquaculture sector, although the technology has already been proven in maritime operations, where it has been used to treat seawater on over 800 vessels.

“This is our breakthrough contract within large scale land-based fish farming, but our technology is already installed on board more than 30 wellboats,” added Gjelseth.

“We are highly familiar with the Norwegian aquaculture industry’s technological and biological requirements.”

The first phase of Arctic Seafarm’s facility aims to produce 10,000 tonnes of salmon annually, with an eventual capacity of 25,000 tonnes. Deliveries of Norwegian Greentech’s water treatment systems are scheduled for the latter half of 2025 and early 2026.
