The Bakkafrost Group’s salmon farms in the Faroe Islands harvested 19,300 tonnes of head-on gutted (HOG) weight fish in the fourth-quarter of last year, which represented a decrease of 1,400 tonnes on the corresponding period of 2021.

The group’s total salmon harvest for 2022 in the Faroe Islands was 66,700 tonnes, while Scotland harvested 23,900 tonnes

According to the producer’s latest trading update, its Farming North operations contributed 5,300 tonnes of salmon, 14,000 tonnes came from its Farming West region, and Farming South didn’t harvest any fish. In the fourth-quarter of 2021, these areas produced 9,300 tonnes, 8,900 tonnes and 2,500 tonnes respectively.

Bakkafrost’s Scotland operations harvested 5,100 tonnes in Q4 2022 – the same as a year previously.

The group’s total salmon harvest for 2022 in the Faroe Islands was 66,700 tonnes, down from 67,200 tonnes of fish in 2021, while Scotland harvested 23,900 tonnes – a decrease of 5,800 tonnes year-on-year.

Therefore, the total harvest in 2022 amounted to 90,600 tonnes of HOG salmon.

Meanwhile, Bakkafrost sold some 32,600 tonnes of feed in the final three months of last year, the same as in Q4 2021, with its Havsbrún facility sourcing 46,100 tonnes of raw materials in the quarter.

Total feed sales for 2022 reached 127,800 tonnes, and in total, 297,800 tonnes of raw materials were sourced.
