The ASC is launching a new Farm Standard

The new Farm Standard will be launched in autumn next year coming into effect a year later in autumn 2025. In response to feedback gathered during an earlier consultation on fish health and welfare in autumn 2022, ASC has decided to make a few changes.

Feedback is being invited on cleaner fish, which are now included in the new standard, along with the shrimp in recognition of species-specific needs.

The organisation is also seeking views on its living wage methodology as it seeks to ensure that certified farms pay a fair wage as well as inviting feedback on the scope of its FPIC project which will safeguard the rights of Indigenous peoples.

More information can be found at the ASC Farm Standard page.
