The owners and master of the Plymouth beam trawler Admiral Gordon were found not guilty on three charges of failing to keep an accurate log book by magistrates on 28 July.
Skipper Archie Donaldson, 55, of Newlyn, Cornwall, and the owners I F Ltd of Plymouth were acquitted by Plymouth magistrates.
The case, brought by the Marine and Fisheries Agency, dated back to April 2007 when MFA shore based officers inspected the Admiral Gordon and found a diary that appeared to contradict information in the fishing log book.
However the court was not satisfied that the logbook was inaccurate, delivering a non guilty verdict and ordering the costs of the defence to be paid from public funds.
