Call for papers: submit your abstracts now!
The 7th Offshore Mariculture Conference will take place on 6-10 March 2017 in Ensenada Baja California, at the Hotel Coral & Marina. Booking is now open and places are limited so book soon to avoid disappointment.
We are pleased to announce the official support of the World Aquaculture Society as well as high level support from regional and federal government bodies in Mexico such as the National Institute of Fisheries (INAPESCA) whose Director General, Dr. Pablo Arenas, will be chairing the conference.
The two-and-a-half-day technical conference will focus on the application of real life case studies to the mariculture industry in Mexico and the wider world. Following this will be a further one and a half days of technical visits to working offshore fish farms, hatcheries and research laboratories.
The call for papers for the 2017 Conference has been finalised and companies, organisations and individuals are invited to put forward papers in the following categories:
- Recent developments in marine aquaculture
- Successes and opportunities for Mexican Aquaculture:
- Studies of fin fish and alternative species (such as bivalves and abalone) currently being farmed in Mexico – Marine fin fish (striped bass, yellowtail etc), Molluscs (mussels, oysters and abalone), Macro algae, Integration with seaweed
- Marine species being farmed elsewhere representing an opportunity for the Mexican industry
- Research at the breeding / hatchery level
- Market opportunities for Mexican fish and seafood produced through mariculture:
- Case studies from distributors, importers, wholesalers
- Emphasis on the value-added aspects of the supply chain and revenue generated in this sector
- Investment in the offshore mariculture industry: What do investors look for?
- The latest in offshore technology:
- Feed – tradition vs change
- How disease can affect your business
Abstracts using real life case studies will be given precedence and they should be no more than 200 words long.
