The Port of Hirtshals – centre for maritime service, logistics and salmon processing.
The Port of Hirtshals is located on the northwest coast of Jutland, and functions as a center for transport of cargo between Europe and Norway, Iceland and the Faroe Islands. The Port of Hirtshals aims to become the salmon hub in northern Europe. To reach this goal, the focus is to use 100 % of the salmon. All of this will be done in Hirtshals through a cooperation between existing and future companies - this will provide the end product with a low carbon footprint. The transport network to and from the Port of Hirtshals, the North Atlantic and Europe makes it possible to get the products to the markets in a faster and greener way. The Port of Hirtshals is also home to a large cluster of companies within maritime service. This cluster service both companies at the port and different types of vessels within the fishing fleet, cargo ships, ferries, navy and supply vessels.
