Marin Teknikk will design and engineer a longliner factory fishing vessel to be built by Tersan Shipyard for Ervik Havfiske to carry out fishery operations in the Atlantic.

The 60.5m long vessel is the sixth new vessel that Tersan Shipyard in Turkey will build for Ervik Havfiske and the 11th vessel Marin Teknikk has designed for the company. Designed with high ice class, ready for Patagonian Toothfishing in Antarctic regions, the vessel will be capable of fishing through her moonpool in the harsh weather conditions and she will be outfitted with advanced fish process plant.

Richard K. Gjerde, sales director of Marin Teknikk, stated: “We have been working close to Stig and Kjell-Magne Ervik and their team for almost 25 years, and we feel this a recognition of our work, by designing safe, practical, environmentally and cost-effective fishing vessels, especially adjusted to different fishery and Ocean areas where Ervik operates.”

“We are pleased and honored to establish such a long term and successful relation with Ervik Havfiske” stated Sakir Erdogan, sales and marketing director of Tersan, which noted that the vessel is its 100th new building contract.

As the owner of Tersa’s first turn- key basis delivery to Norway in 2011, Ervik Havfiske has a significant partner role for Tersan.

The first three vessels Tersan Shipyard built for Ervik Havfiske are successfully conducting fishery operations. The fourth and fifth vessels are currently under construction in Tersan to be delivered by the end of 2019.

Several recognized Norwegian companies will be involved in equipment deliveries to the vessel.

The vessel is scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2021.

Tersan Shipyard built the MS Frøyanes in 2010, which helped it develop its business of building special vessels. Marin Teknikk designed this vessel as well, which still is the largest Longliner in the world. MS Frøyanes was built with diesel electric propulsion followed by several innovative solutions.
